Hive Dive and Alcohol Wash

Please join me and Helen Schoonover at my apiary, 414a Kingstown Way in Duxbury on Saturday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. to see what is happening in the hive at this time of the season.  We'll be looking for:

• Good brood patterns
• Good resources - adequate honey and pollen stores
• Evidence of a laying queen
• Mites -- by using an alcohol wash to see if we've knocked them down 
• Evidence of a dearth
